The Giddy Goat Story

The Giddy Goat logo was designed by our 11 year old daughter and was inspired by

the legend of the origins of coffee.

The story goes: In 11th Century Ethiopia, a goat herder named Khaldi noticed his goats were eating berries causing such extra energy they wouldn’t sleep at night. Kaldi reported his findings to a local abbot who made a drink with the berries which kept him awake all night, helping him through his long hours of evening

prayer. Word soon spread and by the 15th Century coffee was being grown all over the Arabian Peninsula.

Today, our coffee is imported by a small company in Ampthill, who roast it to perfection and deliver to our coffee shop. We hope you enjoy the coffee as much as we do!
